Mission and Values

Mission

Hugessen Consulting’s mission is to be the leading provider of advice and support to compensation committees and boards on executive compensation, performance and related governance matters, consistent with a typical board mandate for its compensation committee.

Values

Integrity

Ethics in executive compensation goes beyond the usual requirements for fair practice and avoiding conflicts of interest. Executive compensation decisions must be ethical and must be seen to be ethical in the face of intense scrutiny. This means that ethics are not just about values, they are about a high level of professional standards, peer review, an on-going commitment to accountability and transparency, and the professional and economic independence of our consulting staff. Our firm's strict rules on prevention of potential conflicts of interest, and on-going professional development, ensure we maintain integrity in the most demanding way possible.

Focus

All of Hugessen Consulting's work is on executive compensation and related performance and governance issues from a director perspective. The professional leaders of the firm are dedicated to meeting the needs of directors serving on compensation committees for carefully researched, independent advice on the executive compensation issues they face.

Independence

Hugessen Consulting will remain free of the inherent conflicts of selling other lines of business. We focus on executive compensation from a director's and top management perspective, free of considerations about current and prospective opportunities to sell other services, which, in our view, can bias judgment.

Competence

Hugessen Consulting will retain leadership in our field by maintaining a high level of professional development focused solely on executive compensation and related areas of performance and governance. With an unequalled depth and breadth of experience in executive compensation, board advisory, and general management, our senior professionals bring a broad understanding of each client's business situation and a carefully-researched approach to meeting its executive compensation needs.
